Works just as described. Sensitive and turns on almost instantly when motion is detected. The best feature is a ambient light sensor which prevents operation during the day (or at night when regular lights are "on" to conserve batteries. The AA batteries should last a long time. There is also a side switch to turn completely off or constant on which is handy. As it is intended to be a night light don't expect it to light up a hallway but it does very well in illuminating an area so you can find the wall switch if needed. In a small bath at night you probably won't need to turn on the normal light. Very satisfied.
